Charles Whitworth, DVM

Dr. Charles Whitworth grew up in Madison, Alabama, right down from the street where Whitworth Animal Clinic is now located. From a very early age, Dr. Whitworth developed a passion for animals and wanting to help them. From the time he was in third grade, Dr. Whitworth knew he wanted to be a veterinarian.

Dr. Whitworth went on to graduate from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, and the Madison County Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Charles Whitworth has served as a Madison veterinarian for over 30 years and is well known throughout the community.

As the founder and lead veterinarian of Whitworth Animal Clinic, Dr. Whitworth has earned a reputation for exceptional medical expertise, compassionate care, and trusted veterinary leadership in the region.

Family Life is Important

Outside of being one of the foremost Madison veterinarians in north Alabama, Dr. Whitworth enjoys spending time with his wife, Sherry, as well as their six children and 9 grandchildren who live throughout the Southeast. Sherry and Charles love spending time with family, friends and grandchildren.

Their oldest daughter, Allisoon and her husband, Fred live iin Decatur, Georgia, and have two sons, Cooper and Landon. Gooper graduates th9syear and will attend Auburn University this fall. Landon stillhas a couple of high school years left but loves coming to his Grandaddy’s farm and helping with whatever is needed.

Continuing the family tradition of working with animals and following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Chase Whitworth graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. He is a founding member in Southern Veterinary Partners, and they own approximately 1000 clinic across the United States. His wife Lindsey is an attorney with a law firm in Birmingham. They have 3 children, Sutton, Meade, and Maren.

Mark graduated from Auburn University and is recently married, living here in Madison. He works for Brasfield Gorrie LLC as superintendent and his wife, Jen, a Vanderbilt grad, is a nurse practitioner at Huntsville Hospital.

Chad, another auburn grad, and his wife Kelly live in Madison. Chad works for KB Development LLC as an operations manager. Kelly is the office manager for Gibbs orthodontics. they have 3 boys, Milller, Wells, and Tuck. Wells was deelivered into the arms of Jesus in June 11, 2018. Chad and Kelley used the darkest moment in their lives and established the Wells Clayton Whitworth Memorial Foundation. The foundation raises money to be used for families walking that same path to help with expenses of burial, grief, counseling and travel.
